The Cathedral Choir that sings our services now has been a traceable Choral Foundation at Lichfield Cathedral since 1315, when Bishop Walter de Langton first provided accommodation for the Lay Vicars Choral in Vicars Close.  The Foundation today includes Lay Vicars, girl and boy Choristers, Choral Scholars and Organists producing music for around 250 choral services every year.

Can you consider a gift towards the Cathedral’s music?

  • £32 pays for one Chorister singing lesson
  • £60 provides a place in the choir for a Chorister for one week
  • £100 keeps the Organ tuned for one week

A one-off or regular donation will help us to maintain our part within the English choral tradition.
