Lichfield Cathedral is the Mother Church of the Diocese of Lichfield and the seat of the Bishop of Lichfield. This site has been a place for worship and learning for around 1300 years, and it continues in that tradition to this day.
Through our staff and trained guides, we provide memorable and enjoyable learning experiences, which are multi-sensory, interactive, and individually tailored to suit your particular needs. We work with schools, educational institutions and groups to develop learning outcomes, in advance of your visit, so that students and staff know what they will have learned, achieved, and experienced by the end of a visit to the Cathedral.
Here you will find details of our excellent opportunities for all key stages, SEN students, universities and life-long learners. We ensure that all visits are differentiated to suit the needs and prior knowledge of all students and visitors.
All our visits support the provision of effective Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education (SMSC). We continually work with teachers and schools to ensure that our Educational Packages are clearly linked, where possible, to examination criteria so as to support ongoing study in lessons.
Lichfield Cathedral’s trained and professional guides and staff deliver visits which are effective, memorable and friendly. They strive to give students the best opportunities for learning outside the classroom.
We would like to invite teachers to complete a questionnaire about what they would like to see from the Education and Learning team at Lichfield Cathedral - click here to take part.
