City of Birmingham Choir at Lichfield Cathedral A Hundred Year First Based in Birmingham city centre, the City of Birmingham Choir are only ‘down the road’ from the historical city of Lichfield, yet, they have never sung at its magnificent cathedral. That is about to change, as for the first time in the 100-year history of the Choir they will be performing an especially curated Lenten concert at the cathedral on the 2nd of March. ‘We are absolutely delighted to be finally singing in such a prestigious and musical venue’ Adrian Lucas, the choir’s musical director commented. ‘And we feel the programme we have put together is absolutely suited to the occasion of Lent while also showing the choir and the orchestra at their best.’ The choir will be conducted by Adrian Lucas and accompanied by the early music specialists, the Musical and Amicable Society, based in Worcester.
