Arthur Price to sponsor Lichfield Cathedral Christmas Tree
Arthur price, the family-owned cutlery and gift company has announced that it will be sponsoring the Lichfield Cathedral Christmas Tree this year.
The partnership between Arthur Price and Lichfield Cathedral was established at the beginning of the year and continues to go from strength to strength. This partnership has including selling gifts in the Shop at No.9, the Cathedral Gift Shop, and launching a joint tour aimed at attracting more visitors to the city.
This latest development will see UK’s largest cutlery shop sponsor the Cathedral’s 30ft Christmas Tree, which stands proudly on the west front.
The tree is the focus of various events which take place during the festive period, including the ‘To be a Light’ and ‘St Giles Hospice Light up a Life’ services. ‘To be a Light’ will take place on Sunday 6 December at 3pm, and will involve music from the Cathedral Choir, a beautiful Lantern Parade, and of course, the lighting of the magnificent tree.
The St Giles Hospice service will take place on Sunday 13 December at 6pm, and includes carols and prayers to celebrate the lives of those who we have lost throughout the year. Commemorative ‘lights’ are hung on the tree in remembrance.
Simon Price, CEO of Arthur Price says: “"We are very lucky to have such a magnificent Cathedral on our doorstep. Whether it’s a time of celebration or contemplation the Cathedral, the Close and everything that surrounds it makes Lichfield a very special place. Christmas time at the Cathedral is extra special and it is my privilege to sponsor the tree and help welcome people to the vast array of events being staged this year for all the family."
The Very Revd Adrian Dorber, Dean of Lichfield adds: “The tree is the focus to the outside world, that we are celebrating Christmas and people from all over the country come to join us. It is good to have the support of Arthur Price at such a special time of the year. We’re grateful for our partnership and for the opportunity to work together to celebrate all the good things Lichfield has to offer.”
