Walking Through History
Sunday 20 November | 14.00
Local author and journalist Joss Musgrove Knibb will be launching her book ‘Lichfield in 50 Buildings’ at the Cathedral Shop.
'Lichfield in 50 Buildings' is a guide to the extraordinary architectural history of the city. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a walking tour, and through its lavish illustrations gives every reader a real taste of a place that people in Lichfield are still rightly proud of. Exploring 50 of Lichfield’s architectural wonders, the book tells the story of the development of the city - its wars, plagues, saints, sinners, Saxons and chancers - through the buildings that are still standing and still bearing witness today.
Come along for a free mini tour of some of the hidden stories and architectural secrets of The Close and area, hear about the research behind the book and meet the author.
Meet at The Cathedral Shop for a free tour around The Close, followed by a brief talk and book signing.
'Lichfield in 50 Buildings' is published by Amberley Publishing and retails at £14.99.
