A Vigil for Nice
We were deeply saddened to learn of the events in Nice on Thursday 14 July. At this time of great tragedy, our thoughts and prayers are for all those affected by this attack.
On Sunday 17 July at 18.00, we will hold a special vigil for all those affected. The vigil will be led by the Very Revd Adrian Dorber, Dean of Lichfield, and will provide an opportunity to grieve for those who lost their lives, and to join together in hope.
All are welcome to attend the vigil.
The Very Revd Adrian Dorber, Dean of Lichfield, says: “Our world is turbulent and frightening just now. The terror attacks over the past few years have caused great grief and heartbreak for many people. We would like to pray for all those whose lives have been lost, and those who have lost loved ones. Our prayers, at the moment, are with Nice. Please join the vigil to express solidarity and support, compassion and hope.”
We have also set up a candle station in the Cathedral, and would like to welcome you to light a candle and write a prayer on one of the cards provided.
Hope will bring us together.
