Lent is a season of prayer, simplicity, forgiveness and contemplation.
The tradition has been to fast or give something up during this period to help with the practice of spiritual discipline.
Lent is a time of preparation for the great celebration of Easter.

Biblical Reflections for Lent
Wednesday 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 March 19:30-21:00 in the Cathedral
Using the new icons in the Shrine, we will explore the Ministry of Jesus written on them, using the Bible stories that they depict.
- Jesus Preaching the Kingdom (Matthew 5:1-12)
The Baptism of Jesus (John 1: 29-34)
- The Transfiguration of Jesus (Luke 9:28-36)
- The Wedding at Cana (John 2: 1-12)
- The Last Supper (Luke 22:7-38)
Each week a reflection will be offered, followed by some time for quiet prayer and ending with compline. Bring your Bible, if you are able.
For those unable to attend in person, the talks will be streamed online here.
