Library Tours 2025
This year’s library tours are exploring the concept and history of health including, physical, spiritual, and mental health. We will be showcasing a selection of books and manuscripts, including:
- Works by the eminent physician, Sir John Floyer (1649 – 1734), who practised in Lichfield.
- A 17th century edition of Robert Burton’s, ‘The Anatomy of Melancholy’, which he wrote as much to alleviate his own depression as to alleviate this illness in others.
- A selection of manuscripts illustrating that spiritual health was as important as physical health to the medieval person and which still resonates today.
