Do you have stories of Lichfield Cathedral to share?
We would love to hear your story
and make it part of a new oral history project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Has the Cathedral played a significant part in the life of you or your family? Perhaps you are a long-standing member of the congregation or have memories of the site from childhood. Has the Cathedral played a role in a personal life event, such as a wedding, or is it a place to visit during moments of national significance or personal reflection?
We mark a significant moment in the history of the Cathedral this year as the Central Spire repairs will be finished, making it secure for generations to come.
We will be bringing the story of the spire to life with drama, history and school projects. Want to be involved?
The project seeks to capture personal memories, local stories, and otherwise lost cultural heritage in the form of audio interviews that will be used to paint a picture of the story of Lichfield and its iconic three-spired Cathedral.
If you have a story to tell, we would love to hear from you.
Please email us at spire@lichfield-cathedral.org to get involved with the project, or find out more information.
