News from Beirut and Embrace the Middle east
Dear Friends
We’re all shocked and appalled by the massive explosion that ripped through Beirut on Tuesday, which was felt as far away as Cyprus. The disaster has left many dead and injured and wrought widespread destruction to buildings and homes. The details leave us feeling devastated for the people of Lebanon.
But amidst the chaos, anguish and pain our friends at the Lebanese Society for Education and Social Development have sent us this video which, is so inspiring and encouraging I felt that I had to share it with you. In it you will hear LSESD’s CEO say: “ We are on a ship, caught by a storm. I don’t know how, I don’t know when, but I trust that the Lord will lead us to land on a safe shore, on an island. Meanwhile during this difficult trip we are burdened and we promised Him to take of the people who are with us on this ship. Our eyes are on Him and our hands are on the plough” (Nabil Costa CEO The Lebanese Society for Education and Social Development)
Please do feel free to share this video as widely as possible and ask your churches to pray for the people of Beirut as they deal with a disaster that has come to a country already facing a terrible crisis.
