Support for Local Heroes from Lichfield Businesses
Staff at Lichfield’s Samuel Johnson hospital have been given an early Christmas present thanks to Luxmuralis Artistic Collaboration, Lichfield Cathedral and members of Lichfield’s Business Improvement District.
The organisations have given 20 Family Tickets for use by hospital staff and their families to see the spectacular The Cathedral Illuminated light and sound show which begins on December 16th and runs until the 21st.
"The Cathedral Illuminated has become a special family experience for many but this year we want to remember the wonderful heroes who continue working so hard to save many people through this period and this is our small token of thanks and tribute," explained Peter Walker, Artistic Director.
It’s a great way to say thank you to local heroes at the centre of the community.
Cathedral spokeswoman Vicky Osborn said: “Our Emergency Services work tirelessly over the Christmas period and it is our pleasure to be able to give just a little back to the hardworking hospital staff at Samuel Johnson.”
The award-winning spectacular light and sound show has been voted the Best Event in Staffordshire for 3 years running.
The artistic collaboration, Luxmuralis, will transform the Cathedral inside and outside using stunning sound and light projections in a presentation called ‘The Beginning’ that will complete the journey of Space, Light and Time following this year’s theme which is the perfect beginning to Christmas.
This year it also features ‘In the Image and Likeness: A Constellation of Images’ artwork by Peter Walker working with thousands of school children in the area.
Advance tickets are £6 adults, or £4 for children (age 4-16) and £16 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).
