Poetry and Pizza – a winning combination for a new generation of wannabe poets?
We’re really pleased to be able to offer this beginners’ slam poetry workshop as part of our creative offerings at The Word poetry festival this November.
It is aimed at 11- 16 year olds and will be run by poet and Friary school teacher Phil Knight and Lichfield Library’s poet in residence Emily Rose Galvin.
Together they will talk about what makes a performance and what is slam – before inviting you to have a go on the mike …if you want!
And did we mention pizza? No?
There will be pizza.
Emily regularly organises slam poetry events while Phil set up Lichfield's own Poetry for the People. Together they will offer a introduction to slam poetry in a supportive environment.
