We have an eclectic mix of poets encompassing many different poetic forms. The Word opens in the Cathedral on Sunday 24 November with Benjamin Zephaniah - poet, writer, lyricist, and musician who is known for his strong and often controversial beliefs and opinions. He is currently on tour with his autobiography. Malcolm Guite is a poet, singer songwriter and priest who will launch his latest book After Prayer in early November and will give us an evening of songs and sonnets. For our closing event we have Michael Symmons Roberts, multi-award winning poet, writer, broadcaster who will share some of his poetry and who will also announce our poetry festival competition winners at the prize giving event at 17.15 on Thursday 28 November.
