MORE EXCITING NEWS...
More exciting news from The Word this week. Lichfield Library has announced that Emily Rose Galvin is to be its first ever poet in residence.
YAY! Super pleased for Emily who is part of our first every poetry festival and has designed a creative workshop inspired by the moon especially for us.
Emily has just come to the end of her tenure as the first female poet laureate for Staffordshire during which time she has travelled up and down the county promoting a love of poetry, has worked with The National Trust and has put together two poetry anthologies for charity.
She said: “This next year, I simply can't wait to bring an exciting new selection of events to such a beautiful location, with workshops, readings, showcases, drop-in events and a whole heap of poetry, from classic to contemporary. Hopefully a little something for everybody!'”
And guess what she found in the Library this Saturday??
Someone has been scattering poems all across the city – what will you find?
