IT'S ALMOST TIME TO PUT DOWN YOUR PENS...
Yep we’re almost there. Just one week to go before the closing date for our poetry festival competition.
You have until National Poetry Day (3 Oct) at 5pm to send us your poems.
So make the most of it…pick up that poem, shake it down, dust it off and send it to us! Share your creativity. To celebrate the anniversary of the Moon Landing, we dedicated ourselves to a year of creativity here at Lichfield Cathedral, and we want you to explore yours too.
Poems submitted should be written on the theme of either 'Awe and Wonder' (7–11 and 12–16 age categories) or 'Light in our Darkness’
(17–25 and 26 and over age categories). We would like entries to be as creative as possible when interpreting these themes. We are looking for original, contemporary poems. The winners, alongside seven others in each category will be displayed in the Cathedral from the end of November until the early part of January.
Deadline: Thursday 3 October - 17:00. National Poetry Day.
First prize £100. Second prize £50. Third prize £25
Check out the rules for submission on the competitions page.
