IF YOU DO JUST ONE THING THIS WEEKEND…….WRITE US A POEM!
Calling all poets: You have until National Poetry Day (October 3) to enter our festival competition and be part of our very first poetry festival here in Lichfield Cathedral later this autumn, which will be opened by none other than Benjamin Zephaniah!
Yep. Lichfield Cathedral has launched its first poetry competition and is inviting people to write new poems on the themes of awe and wonder (7-11 and 12-16 ages) and light in our darkness (17-26 and 26 and over)
You’ve probably noticed we’ve gone a bit moonstruck this year - with a whole year of creativity inspired the 50thanniversary of the moon landing. And our first poetry festival is part of that ambition.
So if you do just one thing this weekend….go on…find your words. Write us a poem…
CLOSING DATE: Thursday 3 October 5pm
Submission guidelines and how to enter are here...
