OUT OF THIS WORLD ORGAN CONCERT SERIES
An Evening Organ Recital Series will take place this Autumn, and we'd love to see you there!
The Hill Organ at Lichfield Cathedral is a truly wonderful instrument and we continue to show-off its versatility in a concert series featuring some of the country’s finest virtuoso players.
The series starts on Friday 6 September at 1930 with Simon Johnson (St Paul’s Cathedral)
The evening will include a complete performance of Holst’s ‘The Planets’ Suite, accompanied by projections of footage from NASA, with the voices of the choristers and chamber choir of Lichfield Cathedral.
Simon is described as one of the most versatile musicians of his generation and has successfully combined a life as an organist with extensive work in choral direction, composition and arrangement.
This magical evening will include a drinks reception with the artist for the price of £25
Tickets prices elsewhere in the cathedral are £12.50 (front/middle of nave); £8 (rear of nave)
The series then continues on Friday 20 September with Catherine Ennis (St Lawrence, Jewry).
Friday 4 October with Martyn Rawles (Lichfield Cathedral).
And finally on Friday 11 October with James Lancelot.
All these concerts will feature a big-screen projection of the artist at the console.
Ticket prices: £9 advance, £10 on the door and all concerts start at 19.30 with door opening at 18.45.
