An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clerk of Works. The Clerk of Works will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and care of the grade 1 listed Cathedral building. The successful applicant would ideally be a practitioner who has moved into management and will take a lead on many projects that are not solely focused on maintaining and conserving the fabric.
The Clerk of Works role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with heritage buildings experience to join a small team to make a big difference.
The Clerk of Works will be responsible for robust, proactive and effective management of repairs, maintenance and enhancements to the Cathedral.
If you have
- A relevant degree or higher qualification or demonstrable experience
- The ability to engage with decision makers at a senior level
- A passion for heritage conservation and an understanding of its importance within the community
- Experience of working in heritage property environments
- Excellent project management abilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget
- Experience of project and budget management
- Experience of working with specialist consultants and contractors
- Excellent attention to detail
- A passion for excellence in all you do
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with diverse stakeholders

Holidays: 27 days leave plus Bank Holidays
