Holocaust Memorial Day

Every year we host a commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day. In 2021 we will be hosting an online service for schools on Wednesday 27th January. This online service will feature music, an act of reflection, and an address by the Dean of Lichfield, Adrian Dorber.

There is also an opportunity for schools to be involved in a poetry reading which will feature in the online service.

If your school is interested in taking part, please contact education@lichfield-cathedral.org.

Our events in the previous years have included the powerful testimonies of John Dobai and Ruth Barnett, both Holocaust survivors and Ganza Gahizi Dieudonne, a survivor of the Rwandan genocide. Our events have also featured the Dean of Lichfield, Adrian Dorber and a number Holocaust Educational Trust Ambassadors.

The event is suitable for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 students. Places can be booked by contacting education@lichfield-cathedral.org.
