Booking

Booking a visit to the Cathedral for your school or educational group is very simple and straightforward.

-In the first instance, we recommend completing our schools booking form, which can be found here.

-Alternatively, please contact our bookings team who can be reached via email on visitorservices@lichfield-cathedral.org or by phone on 01543 306150.

-We recommend contacting us at least 1 month in advance of a visit. Once a date has been agreed, you will receive an email in order to confirm booking.

-The next element is to discuss which visit or visits packages you and your students are interested in experiencing while at the Cathedral. If there is something more specific or slightly different than anything in this list of packages, please let the team know, and they will work with you to create something which suits your learning objectives.

-The cost per student for the packages is £3.30 per student, with a £20 administration fee for the booking itself. These charges apply for both full day or half day visits.

-Additional rooms can be booked at no extra charge for students to eat their lunch, or to be used as a classroom. These tend to be booked up very quickly and have an upper limit on the number of students per room, so discussion is essential.

-We require notification of final student numbers at least 2 weeks before the visit. An invoice will then be sent before or after the visit as agreed. Payment is due in full within 14 days of the invoice. (Cheques should be made payable to ‘Lichfield Cathedral’)

-A risk assessment for the Cathedral can be provided as a guide for your own, however we strongly recommend visiting the Cathedral and completing your own risk assessment before a visit takes place. Risk assessments are the responsibility of the visiting school.

-If you do not wish to book a tour but still wish to visit the Cathedral, please call the bookings team on 01543 306150 or The Chapter Office on 01543 306100 to let us know that you are visiting - we will then be able to advise if there is an event or large service on which could impede a visit.

If you have any further queries, please get in touch.
