Holocaust Memorial Day

Holocaust Memorial Day will be marked at the Cathedral on Friday 27 January. From 10.00 - 12.00 there will be a session in the Nave for students from around the diocese which will feature presentations from a survivor of the Rwandan genocide and people with relatives affected by the Holocaust, in addition to an Ambassador from the Holocaust Education Trust. This will be accompanied by readings and music appropriate to the theme.
At 13.30, the Bishop of Lichfield, The Rt Revd Dr Michael Ipgrave will give a lecture in the Nave talking about the issues raised from Holocaust Memorial Day, to which all are welcome.
At 17.30 there will be a special Evensong dedicated to Holocaust Memorial Day.
In the evening there will be a showing of 'The Pianist', the Roman Polanski adaptation of the WWII memoir of Władysław Szpilman. This will be shown at 19.30 in The Old Stables, The Close. Please call the number below to book.
