The daily life of the Cathedral is the responsibility of the Dean, four Residentiary Canons, and six other members who constitute the Chapter of Lichfield Cathedral. They are supported by the Cathedral Council, whose members are either elected or nominated by the Bishop of Lichfield.
They are also joined in their work by the College of Canons (a number of senior priests from the Diocese of Lichfield), the full and part time lay staff and the volunteers.
The Rt Revd Dr Michael Ipgrave was enthroned as the 99th Bishop of Lichfield on 24 September 2016.
The Very Revd Adrian Dorber was installed as the Dean of Lichfield in Sepember 2005. He has overall charge of the Cathedral.
Canon for Pastoral Development and Mission
The Revd Canon Patricia (Pat) Hawkins was installed as the first Canon for
Pastoral Development and Mission in October 2014.
Pat works with Chapter colleagues to build up the Christian community at the Cathedral and to develop its outreach in mission. Her brief also includes overseeing the Cathedral's involvement in issues of social action and peace and justice, both on it's own programme and in Diocesan partnership, and in sustaining our companion Diocese, Cathedral-to-Cathedral, and overseas ecumenical links
Canon Treasurer and Chaplain for Lichfield Cathedral School
The Revd Canon Andrew Stead was installed as Canon Treasurer and Chaplain for Lichfield Cathedral School in September 2013.
