- Find out about gargoyles in your local area. Draw and write about them. Create an information leaflet for use in the gargoyles' location.
- Find out about gargoyles in different religions and cultures. Why are gargoyles added to religious buildings? Do you think it is a good idea? What is the connection between religion and gargoyles?
- Make a gargoyle mask. Design your own or use a template. Explore the materials needed to create the mask.
- Create a collage of your adopted gargoyle.
- Design your own gargoyle. Make it out of clay or modroc.
- Make a life size model of a gargoyle. Work out the dimensions needed if it was to be seen high up at the Cathedral.
- Laminate images of gargoyles. Use them to make a jig-saw and/or match the pieces together.
- Test different materials for making a gargoyle. Find the most suitable one. How much would this cost? What alternatives could you suggest if you had a limited budget?
- Create sounds to represent the journey of rainwater through a gargoyle. How would the dynamics change as the water goes on its journey? How would the sound differ for heavy and light rain?
- Create a dance, song and/or music to represent the life history of a gargoyle.
- Write a poem about your adopted gargoyle.
