Become a Christian
Remember that in the Bible's New Testament Jesus said: "I am the way, and the truth and the life" (John 14.6), and St Paul said: "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control..."(Galatians 5.22-23).
So why not pray:
Almighty God, as I turn to you in my need,
pour your love into my heart, that I may learn to love
like Jesus Christ, who died and was raised to life,
for the salvation of the world. Amen.
And why not join a church near you, and find out more about walking the way of love, for the sake of the world; or you could This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

How do we keep to this 'new way of life'?
A Christians believe that the Spirit of God empowers all those who turn to God so that they can walk the way of selfless love and live their life for others.
What does this really mean?
It means that as a Christian community based on Lichfield Cathedral, we worship God and support one another, as we serve the wider community for the sake of the world.
Can anyone be a Christian?
The answer to that is 'yes' and you will be welcome! The death and resurrection of Jesus means that:
- If you feel cut off - you can be reunited
- If you are a sinner - you can be forgiven
- If you are enslaved - you can be set free
- If you are unloved - you can find love
- If you are lost - you will be found
Christianity
Christianity is a monotheistic religion centred on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. Christians believe Jesus to be the Son of God and the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament, and they see the New Testament as the record of the Gospel that was revealed by Jesus. With an estimated 2.1 billion adherents in 2001, Christianity is the world's largest religion. It is the predominant religion in Europe, the Americas, Southern Africa, the Philippines and Oceania. It is also growing rapidly in Asia, particularly in China and South Korea.
Christianity began as an offshoot of Judaism, and includes the Hebrew Bible, known to Christians as the Old Testament, within its canon. Like Judaism and Islam, Christianity is classified as an Abrahamic religion. The name "Christian" (Greek Χριστιανός), meaning "belonging to Christ" or "partisan of Christ", was first applied to the disciples in Antioch, as recorded in Acts 11:26. The earliest recorded use of the term "Christianity" (Greek Χριστιανισμός) is by Ignatius of Antioch.
